We all know him, Markus Persson Notch is the one we admire with a reason, he created minecraft and he is now giving his voice on piracy and his revenue. With Minecraft, a game that suprised all of us and now become the 6th best selling PC game of all time you have a great central figure behind it and it wears a hat and a name Notch.
With millions he earned he is still baffled as he was raised in not a poor family but decent enough so he could go to a cinema but should save up money for buying a new peace of hardware like consoles on which he used to play.It all felt normal to him and now he has a large pile of money, with one part for enjoying life and one for taking care of family.
Piracy is something we all have opinions about and so does he, while he is against people pirating he doesn’t look at it as a crime hence the view on the pirated copy not being a lost sale. Overall interesting person we all admire for creating one of the best games ever actually.
8 million combined sales on Xbox is now one more thing Mojang and Notch can be proud off. The game itself is getting more and more downloaded, the trend simply isn’t stopping but growing. It’s that kind of game that comes out once in a gamers life time. We can compare it to classics like Counter Strike or Dota.
One thing to notice is every one of those games came out on PC which we love cause it’s something that is always backwards compatible and it doesn’t get passed on as a system to next generations as consoles do. We can see that with PS3 Xbox 360 and PS4 and Xbox One.
With the world sales for the Xbox edition going crazy United Kingdom is also crazy for the block building game. Here are the charts of the last week.
4J Studios famous for making Minecraft for Xbox 360, or porting it is publishing a skin pack for the named console. Titled skin pack 5 will be based on number of Ubisoft characters, as you can see from the picture Ezio and Altair which were protagonists in the game. But not only Assasin Screed is here, you will have characters from Splinter Cell and Rayman Origins and Legends.
This isn’t first time they made the skin pack as you can see by the title, also it isn’t first time they are using game characters, as they already with Borderlands 2, Dead Space and Telltale’s Walking dead.
As the game is for console this is the only way for players to put a skin on their character so there is no freedom like on the PC.
Somebody had to blend this 2 games into one I guess, and the outcome is 7 Days to Die. It combines elements of Minecraft when it comes to items and crafting and DayZ the feeling of an RPG and stranded and lonely feeling you can get in that mmo game.
It’s kickstarter page is asking for 200,00$ of funding for it to be complete, which is not a small price to ask from people. When you consider this isn’t so original like some other projects out there it’s not a small sum to get collected by the public.
It’s coming out for Windows, Linux and Mac all three possible PC platforms out there. If you are interested we recommend you check out their kickstarter also watching this video below is not bad either, you get familiar with it’s gameplay.
Looks interesting, but interesting enough to get funded is the question.
Mojang has reported that new launcher for Minecraft is not available for all players of that same game. It also has some new features and is vastly improved. If you read the Polygon than you may already know what is stated over their for our mod loving game. “Those who are playing “Minecraft” on PC can now download an all-new launcher, which brings an updated interface, upgraded security, and upgraded stability.” is an quote from their website and we do trust them of course.
For the new launcher to function properly you need at least 1.6 version of Minecraft for it all to run properly. You can continue playing the game if you stay on the older version ass well. Self-updating system is one of the features that are added to the launcher, and only time will tell will we have something like a mod loader in this launcher so we don’t need to have 3rd party apps anymore for us to install mods.
Good news for everyone gaming on Xbox 360 with Minecraft, as on PC Minecraft will still be updated. 4J Studios developer confirmed this via Twitter so there is no reason to worry your fun with this game will stop after next generation of consoles.
Even thought we like consoles, we don’t see the point why wouldn’t you play this on a computer, since all those lovely mods are there and something you are looking for to download, TFC mod manager or sometimes called simply Mod loader. That can be confused with any game but we crafters know what we mean when we say it.
Horses! Yes,horses will be added to Minecraft and we will probably enjoy it a lot. Cool thing about this addition to the game is that they credit a modder for this which makes us happy as seeing that mods have influence on games. Mo’ Creatures mod is what inspired the Mojang programers and designers. But that’s all that will happen concerning the animals cause you won’t see anymore animals being added in this latest Minecraft update. Where can you find horses? In the wild but when you hop on them they will try everything to knock you out back since that’s their nature. You have to earn it’s respect and after a while you will be the prince on a horse every girl in Minecraft dreams off.
Update by update in Minecraft
What about technical aspect of the game ? Well it will be changing from Java 5 to Java 6, which I personally have problems updating on my computer.
You may noticed smooth lighting in Minecraft past months as an result of various updates, while the effect is all looking good and such some players reported that they have frame drop issue cause of that and in this 1.5.1 version of the game we hope this will be fixed, that damn Java just isn’t friendly with us.
But it’s not only PC that’s getting updates and new stuff, Mojang didn’t forget Xbox also, which just got a trailer for the end game or some call id Dragon ending and we also prefer that one. Make sure to watch the video below.
Not only frame drops are being fixed. Those horrible white lines you see sometimes between the blocks are now the thing of the past and we are forever grateful for programmers at Mojang for that, mods also can get in the trash cause of bugs like that. Speaking of mods TFC mod manager is still for download or as some may call it Mod Loader Minecraft.
Before we start about Minecraft going hard, and by that we mean you will be able to get a hard copy of your favorite PC/ console game we want you to see latest video which is pretty hyped on youtube and it shows off visualization of creating process of Minecraft.
Pretty cool huh ? Yea we think that too also it’s nice to see that Notch was able to let his baby being coded by someone else, wondering is the feeling similar when you let your MOD being downloaded in the public or even modified a bit more by someone you actually don’t know.
So when will you be able to buy a retail version of the game ? April 30 and it will be only for Xbox 360. What about the updates we keep you informed about a lot of the times ? Yes they will be there on the disc with the game and also the ninth update that is coming will also be there on your Xbox 360 console. We wonder why PC isn’t gonna get a retail version, but maybe that’s the best it was first digital why wouldn’t it stay like that.
With the reveal of Play Station 4 many questions were raised, what developers will be working on it, is the loved Mojang ready to make a Minecraft for Play Station 4 or even Rovio a popular creator of Angry Birds which has millions and millions of downloads across all platforms, even Google Chrome.
Exact number of european teams working on Play Station 4 content is 28, some of you may know couple of them, like CD project and Ubisoft. But with the whole reveal of new console which is next gen isn’t a reveal actually, since console hasn’t been showed yet, only the famous already now controller which has improved buttons and everything actually. Share button is something gamers will love, but the question is will you be able to share it on Youtube like many Minecraft gamers do and show off their builds with thousands of blocks and using a lot of time on all of it.
Maybe Minecraft won’t be coming to PS4 but the future games from Mojang are possible, since they are not denied yet.
